UnderArmour SpeedForm Gemini 3 review
The UnderArmour SpeedForm Gemini 3 hit our desks for a review with some lofty expectations based on the rep from it’s previous models.
It’s not often that we get road shoes to review here at LTC, but when UnderArmour sent us their SpeedForm Gemini 3 to review we got excited because it’s previous iterations got such good reviews abroad. Although South Africans don’t really relate UnderArmour to other big running brands, it is pretty well respected in all other geographies that they sell in.
So we strapped them on and hit the streets to figure the SpeedForm Gemini 3 out:
- The fit is FANTASTIC! You notice it as soon as your heel gets cupped by the plush heel-counter, to the solid midfoot lockdown all the way to the generous toebox. This shoe is sooooo comfortable and was awesome over longer training distances
- I actually dig the looks. It reminded me of a cross between a sneaker and a running shoe and held its own even at the post-run socials
WHAT NEEDS WORK
- Sometimes you wish that a shoe would be perfect for all disciplines and this one comes very close. If it were slightly more responsive, it would be great at speed work and then you could just throw all your other shoes in the bin 🙂
As you can tell, I think the UnderArmour SpeedForm Gemini 3 is superb! Especially, as a high mileage trainer that brings oodles of comfort on those big training weeks.
It retails at R2300 and is one of the most comfortable rides out there. There’s a solid midfoot lock down thanks to a generous overlay and I love the stretchy mesh upper and wider toe box which made my longer training runs really comfortable.
Go check these out, I’m officially a major fan
